Claymont Elementary School
Dual Language Immersion at Claymont
The Brandywine School District launched the Spanish Language Immersion Program at Claymont Elementary School in the 2015-2016 school year. This program provides some of our youngest learners with an exciting opportunity to learn and engage in two languages and cultures - English and Spanish - during the school day. Currently, students in grades K-5 are studying in the program at Claymont Elementary. Ultimately, the program will provide a continuous K-12 immersion pathway.
For the 2024-25 school year, we are now enrolling kindergarten and first-grade students into Claymont's Immersion Program. For a timeline of the enrollment process, please click here y aquí en Español. Only students who live in Claymont's feeder pattern can register for this program. Feeder families who are interested in the immersion pathway should reach out to our building secretary, Sophia Sanchez, via email at Sophia.Sanchez@bsd.k12.de.us. Tenemos la información en Español también.
If seats are available after feeder pattern students have enrolled, we will accept kindergarten students who have completed a School Choice application and selected Spanish Immersion as their program choice.
