Fourth Grade

In 4th grade, the focus is on fostering independent learners and problem solvers.  The fourth grade curriculum is exciting, interesting and challenging.  Students will engage in numerous activities to learn the fourth grade Common Core standards. Through these activities, you can expect students to be reading chapter books, working towards AR goals and quizzes, writing narrative, informative and opinion pieces, multiplying/dividing whole numbers, fractions and decimals as well as science units of Structures of Life, Electricity and Land & Water.  Geography, civics, history and economics are explored through our social studies units as well.  The educational team of the parent, the student and the teacher will work together to make this school year the most productive and rewarding school year thus far.  Claymont’s teachers are devoted and truly believe that if we work together as a team, we can accomplish anything!
